Gilbert to present at LSX Investival Showcase for its Series A Investment round

Our CEO Maurits Huigen will be speaking at the LSX Investival Showcase Europe, 17 November, in London, where he will present the Gilbert showcase for the Series A investment round! This partnering event takes place on the first day of London Life Science Week.

For the Series A Gilbert is planning to raise a €10 million equity investment to fuel our path to commercial stage of the company, with a planned closing in Q4 2026.

Today Gilbert is working hard to further develop their Smart Precision Inhaler, a device that can produce a customizable monodisperse aerosol. As of mid 2024, Gilbert is performing feasibility studies with Pharma partners to support the development and formulation for inhaled medicine.

Electrospray in biomedical research

Electrospray ionization (ESI) is a technique used in mass spectrometry to produce ions using an electrospray in which a high voltage is applied to a liquid to create an aerosol. It is especially useful in producing ions from macromolecules because it overcomes the propensity of these molecules to fragment when ionized.

When it began

Electrohydrodynamic atomization (EHDA), also called electrospray, has been studied for centuries starting in the late 1500s when William Gilbert (1544-1603) first observed how a drop of water deformed into a cone in the presence of an electric field.

Since the 1990s electrospray has been successfully employed in applications across a broad range of industries, from biomedical, to nano-materials to food packaging to the aerospace industry.

Dutch MedTech Company Gilbert Raises €7 Million pre-Series A to Redefine Treatment for Lung Patients.

Eindhoven, The Netherlands, June 7 2023 – Gilbert, today announced the completion of its €7 million Seed – and pre-Series A investment round. The investment rounds are led by Dutch deeptech investor DeeptechXL and joined by existing shareholders NanoCorp and Delft Enterprises.
